For clarity, BECE is also known as Junior Waec or simply the JSS3 exam. The BECE consists of 18 subjects, but candidates can sit for a maximum of 10. To pass, a candidate must pass at least six subjects, including English and Mathematics.

The BECE marks the transition from Junior Secondary School (JSS3) to Senior Secondary, and it’s typically taken by candidates in their third year of Junior Secondary School. There are 18 subjects in total at the BECE level, but candidates can sit for a maximum of 10 subjects. To pass the exam, a candidate must pass at least six subjects, including English and Mathematics.
